Handling SOS Requests for Volunteer
The SOS Mobile application allows police officers to respond to emergency SOS requests from citizens. Volunteer can see the number SOS request has been raized by the citizens, accept or reject requests, take quick actions, and mark the SOS request as closed upon resolution.
SOS Request Handling Workflow
- Description: After scanning the QR code, the officer is directed to the SOS Requests screen, where they can see recent and past SOS requests.
- Screen: SOS Requests screen.
- Fields:
- Recent Requests: Displays active SOS requests sorted by time (e.g., “Just Now,” “2 Min Ago”).
- Citizen Details: Name, location, and profile picture of the citizen.
- Call Button: Allows the officer to call the citizen directly.
- Accept/Reject Buttons: Options to accept or reject the SOS request.
Accepting or Rejecting the SOS Request
- Description: The officer can choose to accept or reject the SOS request.
- Screen: SOS Request Details screen.
- Fields:
- Citizen Profile: Name, profile picture, and location.
- View Profile Button: Redirects to the citizen’s detailed profile.
- Nearby Resources: Displays nearby police stations, volunteers, and other emergency services.
- Incident Type Dropdown: Allows the officer to select the type of incident.
- Map View: Shows the citizen’s location and nearby resources.
- Accept/Reject Buttons: Confirmation buttons to accept or reject the request.
Taking Quick Action
- Description: Once the SOS request is accepted, the officer can take quick actions such as calling emergency services or marking their arrival at the location.
- Screen: Quick Actions screen.
- Fields:
- Quick Action Options:
- Reached Location: Mark arrival at the citizen’s location.
- Emergency Contacts: Quick-dial buttons for various emergency services (e.g., Lagos Emergency Service, FRSC Zonal Office, etc.).
Marking Reached Location
- Description: The officer confirms their arrival at the SOS location and can add comments if necessary.
- Screen: Reached Location confirmation popup.
- Fields:
- Comments Box: Optional field for the officer to add details about the situation.
- Submit Button: Confirms the officer’s arrival at the location.
Closing the SOS Request
- Description: Once the situation is resolved, the officer can close the SOS request and add comments if needed.
- Screen: Close SOS Emergency popup.
- Fields:
- Comments Box: Optional field for the officer to provide details about the resolution.
- Submit Button: Confirms the closure of the SOS request.
Viewing Closed SOS Requests
- Description: The officer can view the details of closed SOS requests.
- Screen: SOS Request Closed screen.
- Fields:
- Citizen Profile: Name, profile picture, and location.
- View Profile Button: Redirects to the citizen’s detailed profile.
- Map View: Shows the location where the SOS was resolved.
- Nearby Resources: Displays nearby police stations, volunteers, and other emergency services.
