Introduction / Purpose

The main purpose of this module is to allow users to configure the freight rates for different products based on delivery locations and their distance. Transporters and vendors who adhere to the tolerance values and the quantities of delivered products will have their freight payments based on configured freight rates.

Dependencies

  1. System Performance: System should respond properly to save the configurations in the database.
  2. Data Availability: The system should ensure the availability of configuration data whenever required.

Freight Rate Configuration List

To open the “Freight Rate Configuration List” screen there are two ways, as mentioned below.

  1. Click on the “Freight Rate Configuration” from the hamburger menu under the “Finance” module, as shown below.
  1. Click on the “Freight Rate Configuration” from the site map under the “Finance” module, as shown below.

Freight Rate Configuration Details

To view the details of freight rate configuration follow the steps below.

Step 1: To open the order freight rate configuration list screen, follow the steps mentioned in the section “Freight Rate Configuration List”.

Step 2: Click on a “Freight Name” from the list to view the details of the freight rate configuration.

FREIGHT DETAILS:

  1. Name – It represents the standard name of the template
  2. Applicable on – This column shows if configured freight rate template is product specific or generic.
  3. Product Name – If the configured freight rate template is product specific then in this column the name of the product will be displayed.
  4. Calculated based on – In this field it’s specified whether the freight will be calculated based on the distance range or source to destination/final destination.
  5. Source – Location from where the freight rates will be applicable and calculated. It will generally be a state as because it’s a bridging template.
  6. Destination – It’s the location till where the freight rates will be applicable and calculated. It will generally be a state as because it’s a bridging template.
  7. Version – This field denotes the current versioning of the freight rate template configured. Every freight template has a unique version. Once it’s updated and saved a new version will get stored.
  8. Added on – The date on which the template was added in the system.
  9. Added by – System user who has access to add the template.
  10. Last updated on – The date on which the template was updated in the system.
  11. Last updated by – System user who has updated the template.
  12. Status – The current status of the template whether it’s active or inactive.

FREIGHT RATES:

  1. Tolerance type – There are 2 types of tolerance, flat and percentage. It’s the exception provided to the hauler/vendor by limited acceptance of shortage in the order deliveries. Shortage quantity in litres can be configured based on flat or percentage in below mentioned field.
  2. Tolerance – Specify the quantity in either flat or percentage value.
  3. Transporter margin – This is extra amount that is paid to the vendor.

Update A Freight Rate Configuration

To update a freight rate configuration, follow the below steps.

Step 1: To open the update form there are two ways, as mentioned & shown below.

  1. Click on “Update Price” from the freight rate configuration list page.
  1. Click on “Update Price” from the freight rate configuration details page.

Step 2: Update configuration details as required. Click the “Save” button to save the updates, as shown below.
