Introduction/Purpose

The dealer product can be added by the retail station users or dealers (if allowed to) in the dealer products module, and admin will have the option to convert the dealer products to generic products. These converted products will be listed as generic products. Admin will be able to view the generic products in the list and also add new or edit existing products. 

Dependencies

1. System Performance: System should respond properly to save the generic products details in DB.
2. Successful Mark As Generic Product: Data should be required to reflect properly when admin marks a dealer product as a generic product.

Generic Product List

All the added generic products will be displayed at the generic products list screen.

To view the generic product list, there are two ways as mentioned below.

• Click on the “Generic Products” from the menu under the “Requests & Approvals” module as shown below.

• Click on the “Generic Products” from the site map under the “Requests & Approvals” module as shown below.

Add A Generic Product

To add generic products, follow the below steps.

Step 1: To open the generic product list screen, follow the steps mentioned in the section “Dealer Product List”.

Step 2: Click on  “Add New” from the list page, as shown below.

Step 3: Enter data for all the mandatory fields. Click on the “Save” button to save the generic product, as shown below. 

Fields Available In The Add/Update Form

• Name of the product (Required): Enter the name of the generic product.
• Product Short Name (Required): Enter the short name of the product.
• Product Barcode (Required): Enter Product Barcode or generate the product barcode automatically.
• Status (Required): Change the status of the product as active (to activate the product) or Inactive (to keep the product inactive).
• Description: Enter the description of the product in the text area.
• Specifications: Enter the specification of the product in the text area.
• Product categories (Required): Select multiple categories of the product.
• Upload product images: Upload images of the product (Upload .png, .jpg, .jpeg of 1024(height) x 930(width) for best resolution.).
