Training and Development
Introduction/Purpose
The Training and Development module in Employee Self-Service (ESS) supports structured learning initiatives to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and competencies. It enables employees to access training programs, view training schedules, track participation, and download learning materials.
This module facilitates continuous learning and performance improvement and helps maintain a record of employee training history aligned with organizational goals.
Process Flow:
How to Navigate
To access the Training and Development section:
- Click the Menu icon in the top-right corner.
- Navigate to My Info > Training and Development.
- A list of previous and active training sessions will be displayed.

Listing:
The module provides filters to help employees view training sessions by status:
- All: Displays all training sessions created and published by HR, regardless of status.
- In Progress: Shows training currently underway.
- Published: Lists sessions available for enrollment.
- Completed: Displays successfully concluded trainings.
- On Hold: Shows training sessions that are temporarily paused.
- Cancelled: Lists trainings that were cancelled before execution.
Note: All records are generated by HR and filtered based on the status assigned at the time of training creation.
- Filter: Listed training can be filtered.
- Trainer Scheduled: The trainer schedule for the training will be visible.

Employees can perform the following actions in this section:
- View Training Details: Access full training descriptions, schedules, and attendance logs.
- Download Training Materials: Click the Materials icon to download course files (usually in .zip format).
- Download Certificate: After successful completion, download the certificate (once published by HR).

Recording & Update:
The training requests of an employee self-service are typically included.
- Subject of Training*: This field specifies the topic or subject matter of the training. It should be a concise description of the knowledge or skills that the training aims to impart.
- Training Category*: This field categorizes the type of training being requested. It could include options like “technical skills,” “leadership development,” “customer service,” or any other relevant categories that classify the training program.
- Count of Attendees to Be Benefited: This field indicates the number of individuals who will benefit from the training. It helps in determining the scale or scope of the training request and assists in planning logistics, such as venue selection and resource allocation.
- Purpose and Reason for Training*: This field requires a brief explanation of why the training is needed and what specific goals or outcomes the organization expects to achieve through it.
Note: “*” represents the mandatory fields to be entered by the employee.
When creating a training request, employees must complete the following fields:
- Subject of Training*: Title or topic of the training.
- Training Category*: Select from categories like Technical Skills, Soft Skills, Leadership, etc.
- Count of Attendees to Be Benefited: Number of employees expected to attend.
- Purpose and Reason for Training*: Justification for the training and its expected impact.
Fields marked with “” are mandatory.*

The employee can perform the following actions in this section:
- Discard: This option allows the employee to discard the changes before saving it.
- Submit: This option allows the employee to add the skill type in the system.
Actions Available:
- Submit: Submit a new training request (if the user has rights).
- Discard: Cancel or exit the form without saving.
