How to Navigate:
To access the Remote Work Planner module, follow these steps:
- Click on the Menu Icon: The Menu icon is located at the top right corner of the Employee Self-Service (ESS) system. Click on this icon to open the main navigation menu, which provides access to various sections within the ESS platform.
- Find the Remote Work Section: In the main navigation menu, locate the Remote Work section. This section includes options related to remote work arrangements, enabling employees to manage their requests and schedules effectively.
- Click on Remote Work Planner: Within the Remote Work section, find and select the Remote Work Planner option. Clicking on this will direct you to the main interface, where you can view and manage your remote work requests.
Listing:
The Remote Work Planner provides users with a comprehensive listing of remote work requests and approvals. The key components of the listing include:
- Employee Name: This field displays the name of the employee who is submitting the remote work request, allowing for easy identification of the individual seeking to work remotely.
- Planner Name: This field indicates the name of the manager or individual responsible for reviewing and approving the remote work request, ensuring clear accountability in the approval process.
- Start Date: This field specifies the date on which the employee intends to begin their remote work period, helping both the employee and the planner to track the planned start of remote work.
- End Date: This field outlines the date on which the employee plans to conclude their remote work, providing a clear timeline for the duration of the remote work arrangement.
- Total Days: This field calculates and displays the total number of days requested for remote work, derived from the start date to the end date, offering a quick overview of the request’s duration.
- Requested On: This field indicates the date on which the remote work request was officially submitted by the employee, serving as a reference for tracking the timing of the request.
- Approval Status: This field reflects the current status of the remote work request, clearly indicating whether it is approved, pending, or declined, which is crucial for both the employee and management to know the outcome.
- Action: This field presents the available actions that can be taken on the request, such as edit, delete, or view details, providing users with options to manage the remote work requests effectively.
Recording & Update:
- Applied: This field indicates the specific date on which the employee submits their request for remote work. It serves as a reference point for tracking when the request was made.
- Date: This field allows the employee to specify the date they wish to begin remote work. It provides clarity on when the remote work arrangement is expected to start.
- Reason: This field enables the employee to provide a brief explanation for their remote work request. It helps management understand the context or necessity for the arrangement, which can assist in the approval process.
- Add Notes: This button or link allows employees to input further notes or details related to their remote work request. This is particularly useful for providing more specific information that may influence the decision-making process.
Actions:
Users can perform the following actions:
- Submit for Approval: This action button is used to formally submit the completed remote work request for managerial approval. Once clicked, the request is sent to the designated approver, initiating the review process.
- Discard: This action button allows employees to cancel the remote work request creation process. If clicked, any information entered will not be saved, and the employee will be returned to the previous page without submitting the request.
