Introduction/Purpose: 

The remote work request feature in Employee Self-Service (ESS) enables users to submit requests for work from home. It provides a user-friendly interface within the ESS system, allowing users to communicate their requirements to managers or relevant departments.

The purpose of the remote work request feature in Employee Self-Service (ESS) is to facilitate the process of requesting remote work. It allows users to submit requests to work remotely, providing flexibility in their work location and also tracing their work requests.

Process Flow:

How to Navigate: 

The navigation to a remote work request in a employee self service typically involves the following steps:

  • Click on the My Info icon: The My Info icon is located in the top right corner of the screen. Clicking on this icon will open the navigation menu, which typically includes links to various sections of the employee self service system.
  • Click on the Remote work request: The Remote work Request is located under the leave section. By clicking on the Remote work Request user can view the previously created remote work request details with their approval status.

Listing:

This feature in the ESS provides the additional feature provided to the user: the user can easily apply for the work from home or the remote work request, and the user can also trace their work from home requests. Where the request is approved or rejected by the HOD or HR.

  • Filter: The user can filter the remote work request and if the user have the multiple role the user can also view the team member work request.
  • Team Request: The user can view the team member requests, and if it has approval rights, it can accept or reject the team member asset requests. In a team request, the user can view the team request. The user can accept or reject the team requests, and the user can filter the team requests based on the following categories :
    • All: It includes all the requests generated by the team members.
    • Declined By Me: The user can view the declined team member request.
    • Pending On My Desk: The user can view their pending team request, which the user has to approve/reject.
    • Approved By Me: The user can view the approved team request.

Recording & Update:

The remote work requests in employee self-service typically include:

  • Work Type* : This field refers to the type of work arrangement you are requesting. It could be options like “Work from Home,” “Remote Work,” “Flexi-time,” or any other specific work arrangement that your organization offers.
  • Start Date* : This field requires the user to enter the desired start date for your requested work type.
  • End Date: In this field, the user needs to provide the desired end date for the requested work type.
  • Location: This field requires the user to enter the location where they will be working during the requested work type.
  • Work Type Reason* : In this field, you should provide a brief explanation or justification for your requested work type.

Note: “*” represents the mandatory fields to be entered by the user.

The user can perform the following actions in this section:

  • Submit for approval: This option allows the user to submit the request for approval. 
  • Discard: This option allows the user to discard the changes before saving it.

Note: After approval the user can’t update the details.
