Introduction/Purpose
Vehicles can be grouped in several groups in the smart tracking as per the need of the vehicles like for delivery, for pickups, for rentals etc. In this way the organization can manage their vehicles efficiently to use for different purposes and at the time of trip creation, it will be helpful to the organization to figure out which vehicles they can assign to the trip. The “Vehicle Group” module within a Smart Tracking System is a strategic component designed to enhance the management and monitoring capabilities of a fleet of vehicles. This module is developed with the primary purpose of enabling efficient organization, control, and oversight of vehicles based on specific criteria or attributes. By categorizing vehicles into groups, this module streamlines various operational tasks, optimizes resource allocation, and improves decision-making processes for organizations. The “Vehicle Group” module serves as a versatile tool within a Smart Tracking System, resource utilization, decision-making, and operational efficiency through the strategic categorization of vehicles into logical groups. By providing insights and control at a more granular level, this module contributes to the overall effectiveness and success of businesses.

Dependencies/Assumptions
The Vehicle Group module within the system relies on a set of crucial dependencies to effectively manage and organize vehicles into groups for streamlined monitoring and administration. These dependencies encompass various technological components, data sources, and integrations that contribute to the module’s functionality. Key dependencies of the vehicle group module:
- System Performance: System should respond properly to retrieve, process and save data accurately.
- Vehicle Data: The vehicle group module relies on accurate and up-to-date information about individual vehicles. This information includes vehicle identification numbers (VINs), license plates, make and model, and any unique identifiers associated with each vehicle.
- User Access and Permissions: The module depends on user access restrictions and permissions to efficiently manage vehicle groups. The capacity to establish and assign vehicles to particular groups while limiting unauthorized access is required of admin users.
- User Interfaces: The vehicle group module interacts with user interfaces to display information about vehicle groups, and allow users to create/edit groups.
