Global Location
Introduction/Purpose:
The Global Location Master functions as a centralized repository for managing comprehensive location details within the Transport Management System (TMS). This master data is essential for ensuring accurate and standardized location information, which supports seamless operations and decision-making throughout the transport network.
With the Global Location Master, users can store and access detailed location-specific data, such as title, latitude, longitude, and address components (country, state, and city). Locations can be assigned for diverse operational purposes, including weighing stations, fuel depots, parking depots, loading depots, check-in points, and delivery destinations. This feature allows for efficient location management, enhancing operational efficiency and coordination within the transportation workflow.
The system’s ability to handle varied location assignments ensures that logistics operations are optimized, contributing to improved resource management and overall transport system performance.
Dependency :
The Global Location Master module has several dependencies to ensure seamless integration and functionality within the TMS. These dependencies include:
- Third-Party Map Integration: The module relies on third-party mapping services for selecting accurate coordinates. This integration enables users to select specific points on the map, which automatically populate the latitude, longitude, and address fields for the global location.
- Country, State, and City Masters: The Global Location Master depends on pre-configured Country, State, and City Master data. Users must select these details to complete the location profile, ensuring that all location records align with standardized geographic information.
- Application Location Assignment: Locations need to be marked as “application locations” before they can be assigned as applicable locations (e.g., weighing station, fuel depot, parking depot, loading depot, check-in location, or delivery location). This ensures that only approved and properly configured locations are used for specific purposes within the system.
These dependencies help maintain accurate, standardized data and support the consistent application of location management across the transport network.
