Customer location
Introduction/Purpose:
The Customer Location Master serves as a centralized repository for managing customer-specific location details, crucial for ensuring accurate and consistent data within the transporter system. This module allows users to store and access essential information, such as the customer name, location title, latitude, longitude, and comprehensive address details, including country, state, and city.
By maintaining a detailed database of customer locations, this master facilitates the assignment of locations for specific customer-related activities, such as delivery destinations, loading points, and check-in locations. This streamlined approach enhances the management of customer locations and supports seamless transport operations, improving efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Dependency:
The Customer Location in the system has several key dependencies that ensure accurate and consistent data entry. These dependencies are essential for creating and managing customer-specific locations within the system. Below are the critical dependencies:
- Coordinates Selection from Third-Party Map: The Coordinates field allows users to select the accurate location from an integrated third-party map service. This selection automatically fills in the Latitude, Longitude, and Address fields with the correct location data, ensuring precision in customer location information.
- Customer Name: The Customer Name field depends on the Customer Company Master, where users can select the specific customer or client to associate with the location. Only the valid customers or companies already registered in the Customer Company Master can be chosen for the location. This ensures that the location is correctly linked to the appropriate customer entity.
- Country Master: The Country field depends on the Country Master. Users must select a valid country from the predefined list, ensuring that only recognized countries are used for customer location definition. This maintains data consistency across the system.
- State Master: Similarly, the State field relies on the State Master, which ensures that only states valid within the selected country can be chosen. This helps avoid data discrepancies and ensures that the state information is aligned with the selected country.
- City Selection: The City field depends on the user selecting a city within the chosen State and Country. This ensures that the selected city corresponds correctly to the geographical location, further standardizing location data.
- Applicable Location Assignment: The Applicable Location field allows users to assign the location to specific functional points, such as weighing stations, fuel depots, parking depots, loading depots, check-in locations, or delivery locations. This dependency ensures that the customer location is categorized and assigned to the appropriate operational function.
By managing these dependencies, the system ensures that customer locations are added accurately and consistently, allowing for effective location management across the transport network.
